Press Release: Spring 2025 Quilt Market Is Off
HOUSTON, TEXAS — November 24, 2024 — Quilts, Inc., the parent company of International Quilt Festival and International Quilt Market, announced that the proposed Spring 2025 edition of Quilt Market will not take place as originally planned.
“Our intent was to produce a Spring edition of the show for the first time since 2019, with a location and date announcement nearing the final stages,” said Karey Bresenhan, President/CEO of Quilts Inc. and Founder/Director Emeritus of International Quilt Market. “Ultimately we decided that, due to a number of factors, it would not be in the best interests of our company, our exhibitors, and our attendees, to announce at this late a date.”
International Quilt Market is the only trade show dedicated to the quilting and sewing industry, and recently celebrated its 45th anniversary in Houston. The spring edition was founded in 1981 and has traveled to multiple cities across the country.
Bresenhan added that the company will be focused on the Fall 2025 edition of Market, to be held October 4-6 (with Sample Spree and Schoolhouse on October 3) at its regular home of the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston. The dates, earlier than usual, will likely be a permanent move. Exhibitor contracts will go out in early 2025.
“It was truly exciting for me to catch up with so many exhibitors and shop owners on the show floor during Market this year, some who I’ve known for decades, and some who I just met” Bresenhan added. “I’m consistently amazed at the talent, creativity, and drive that people in this industry have as they continue to push their businesses forward.”
